Performs duties to supervise and coordinate the manufacturing activities of the plant which can include Assembly, Seal Pak, Diecut and/or Auto Liberty Departments to ensure the efficient, safe, and cost-effective utilization of human resources, equipment, and facilities to produce quality products in accordance with the agenda established by the business team. Job Duties (Specific tasks, assignments, or functions performed) • Coordinate department operations. Ensure production demands are met, quality levels maintained, and a safe environment provided. Actively support the schedule development and offer feedback to the Planner group aimed at optimizing our performance. • Coordinate the material needed for production by ordering stock from the warehouse, presenting product needs to internal suppliers and ordering sheet trailers (as it applies). • Conduct safety meetings, perform safety audits, recommend safety improvements and hit defined safety targets. • Facilitate employee relations. Coach and develop employees and provide an atmosphere which cultivates team and personal growth. • Provide staffing requirements, hiring, disciplining, performance reviews and merit increases. · Coordinate and monitor equipment performance. • Facilitate and assist Continuous Improvement teams with the continuous improvement process as well as provide leadership and support of policies, procedures, and changes of methodology. • Maintain tracking of key indicators to monitor department performance and to provide costing information. • Maintain time, attendance, and personnel records. Qualifications: • Two or more years in a similar or related position. • Bachelor’s degree in Management or Business preferred. • Excellent written and oral communication skills. • Demonstrate outstanding leadership capabilities including employee coaching, objective setting, and professional development. • Demonstrate excellence in key areas of management such as quality management, relationship management, risk management, and staff direction. • Independently make decisions, prioritize, and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment. • Strong organizational skills. • Demonstrate initiative and resourcefulness. • Forecast and adapt to changes in workforce headcount and skill requirements. • Demonstrate the capacity to manage ambiguity and shifting priorities while remaining calm and controlled. • Retain objectivity and proper understanding of a problem or situation when placed under stressful conditions. • Employ effective time management skills to meet and/or exceed expectations. • Proficient knowledge of MS Office. Knowledge of Oracle a plus. • Strong process improvement skills and ability to develop and implement processes. • Exercise critical and strategic thinking and demonstrate prudent judgment when making important decisions by utilizing knowledge of industry best practices and current trends. Minimum Education: BS in Management Minimum Experience: 2 years of Manufacturing Leadership The hiring range for this position in Itasca, IL is $65,000 to $80,000 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills and experience, among other factors.
