Job Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate Die Cutters, feed, and related equipment.
  • Promote and maintain a safe and clean work environment through the enforcement of housekeeping safety policies. Perform general housekeeping.
  • Provide suggestions and feedback on improving departmental processes, performance goals, and environment.
  • Work from prints, manuals, specifications, production orders and instructions to set up print stations, install print plates, cutting dies, adjusting pressure settings, equipment and ink.
  • Oversee Die Cut Helpers set up of feed and print stations and make adjustments as needed.
  • Set up stacker for correct speed and positioning. Check initial product and make necessary corrections, monitor run to maintain quality, register counts, and proper stacking of material.
  • Perform routine maintenance and make minor repairs to ensure proper and efficient storage of ink.
  • Instruct Die Cut Helper on proper operations, safe practices and housekeeping following established practices or instruction and record production.
  • Communicate mechanical or quality problems to the department supervisor, superintendent, or equipment maintenance.
  • Other related and similar duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

  • Have good oral and written communication skills.
  • Successfully complete and pass required lift truck operation tests and training, and obtain and maintain appropriate lift truck licensing. Able to use RF (radio frequency) units.
  • Able to pay close attention to detail and follow instructions/procedures to meet quality standards.
  • Able to perform repetitive tasks (including physical requirements as described below) on a consistent basis.
  • Must be able to perform pre-shift stretching (includes: bending, reaching and stretching with hands, arms, legs and feet and bending and twisting waist) as required for position.
  • Able to work a 40 hour on-site work schedule. Maintain consistent and acceptable attendance. Available to work overtime as needed, including weekend work. Available for mandatory overtime as appropriate based on business demands.
  • Able to fulfill all essential job functions in a consistent state of alertness and safe manner.
  • Abide by all safety policies, procedures, rules, and guidelines in order to prevent and reduce exposure to accidents and injuries.
  • Able to work in a team environment by assisting in training and facilitating job duties for other team members (including temps). Demonstrate a positive attitude.
  • Use of hand tools, grinder and die cutting, printing and stacking equipment.
  • One-year experience as an assistant ward operator or equivalent.
  • Experience using hand tools, grinder and die cutting, printing and stacking equipment. Able to use tape measure, common hand tools, impact wrench, and die cutter and feed equipment.
  • Able to work in a machine paced, team environment.

 The hiring range for this position in Itasca, IL is $19 per hour. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills and experience, among other factors. An annual incentive may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
